Writers Journey Post One

I will be introducing a new area to my blog. It is my journey as a writer and I’m inviting you along the trail with me.

One of the hardest parts of writing in a public forum is that it is something so personal being exposed so unrestricted. It is hard to give one’s thoughts to another when there’s no reassurance that those same thoughts will be accepted, received and encouraged. Yet, in the inspiring words of Dr. Charles Stanley, “…if we surrender instead to the chains of fear, we most likely won’t live in the abundance he offers.”

AND

“I have known talented people who procrastinate indefinitely rather than risk failure. Lost opportunities cause erosion of confidence, and the downward spiral begins.” (pg. 12 from In Touch Daily Readings for Devoted Living August 2015).

So today, what are you procrastinating? What are you afraid to do because you might fail? Can I speak a word of encouragement to you as I say it to myself? Every one of us has talents in some area. God has made sure of that. Be willing to put yourself in a place where God can showcase those talents and surround yourself with folks that will build you up and encourage you. Those kinds of friends are priceless.
