Have you ever been reading a book that you devour intensely right up until you realize you’re about to finish it? You slow your reading down…dreading when the story will end…grateful when you realize it’s the first in a series (if you’re like me and forget to check that before you start reading). When at last you come to the final page, you sigh…sad that your relationship with those characters is over. At least until the next book is released.

This would describe my experience in reading Julie Lessman’s book, Isle of Hope: Unfailing Love. Don’t worry friends, your sadness will not last because this is Book One in the Isle of Hope Series.

Broken hearts are scattered all over the Isle of Hope. Two families, after devastating sin ripped, ravished and destroyed their homes now face the chance for reconciliation, restoration and healing. In order for that to happen, truth must be revealed and pride must be extinguished.

Jack O’Bryan is a successful doctor who’s known for his playboy mannerisms. All talk and no action when it comes to commitment in relationships, he still bears the open wounds of a broken heart.

Lacey Carmichael returns to the place she’s spent years running from with reconciliation on her mind. Reuniting with her friends, she needs to make amends for those she’s hurt but it’s not going to be an easy path.

Tess O’Bryan puts family first and longs for healing in the two families. She too, has suffered loss but she’s determined to live out her faith in every way possible.

Ben Carmichael is happy to be Dr. Doom and has no desire to right any wrongs. He’s happy playing the blame game and living in solitude with his ghosts of the past.

God has so much in store for these families and with the help of two women’s willing hearts, He is going to rock Isle of Hope.

I cannot tell you enough good about this book!! It’s the first of Ms. Lessman’s books that I’ve had the pleasure of reading. What I can tell you is that I’ve added the rest of her books, to my “To Be Read” pile because she’s fantastic. Finding a new author ranks among the happiest of days for book lovers.

Being swept into the world with Jack and Lacey, Isle of Hope is a great story of redemption and the power of forgiveness. I give it five out of five stars and a highly recommended thumbs up.

I received this book from the author in exchange for my honest opinion which I’ve provided here.
