I have read every novel by Sarah Sundin, and her latest novel, Anchor in the Storm, does not disappoint! Book two of three, the novel picks up right where Through Waters Deep left off, only this time, it’s focused on Lillian Avery and Arch Vandenberg.

As always, the historical aspects, the mystery, and the characters were awesome! I got so wrapped up in the tale that I could not put the book down. It was all I could do to carry on with my daily responsibilities. I felt like I really knew these characters. And the story was comfortable.

At first, because I don’t know much about pharmaceuticals, I was confused as to what the conflict would be in the story. However, as the story progressed, I was able to figure it out. When Lillian discovers large quantities of drugs being distributed at the pharmacy, she begins to ask questions. What follows is a tale of intrigue and mystery. The romance that unfolds in the story was also well done. The growth both characters experience in their faith was cool to see, too. Ms. Sundin really does her research.

While I was reading this novel, I was learning so much. World War II is one of my favorite time periods, so to learn while I was reading for fun was my favorite part of reading this book.  I loved this novel and cannot wait to read the next story!

I received this book from Revell Publishers in exchange for my honest review which I’ve provided here.
