This book was so much fun to read. It had lightheartedness while delivering an exciting mystery. Serena Jones is a totally relatable character and she had me laughing out loud many times. This is the first in the Serena Jones book series and the first of Ms. Orchard’s books that I’ve had the pleasure of reading. I am happy to report, I’ve added her books to my To Be Read list.
My favorite side character was Aunt Martha. She’s a feisty gal who wants to be part of the action. Aside from being a nuisance at times, she does have some intelligent moves to offer Serena.
One of the best parts of the book is that there are two men vying for Serena’s attention so this is not your typical guy-falls-for-girl simplicity. And both men are equally wonderful so I found myself hoping either would win her heart.
A Fool and His Monet is a delightful and entertaining book and a great series to start with Sandra Orchard.
