Called to Protect is book two in the Blue Justice series and focuses on Chloe St. John and her canine, Hank. I found the story to be intriguing as Chloe and Deputy US Marshal Blake MacCallum work together to rescue his daughter from human traffickers. The pacing was quick and there was definitely no lapse in suspense all the way through.
I especially loved Chloe and Hank’s relationship. The German Shepherd’s intelligence and training was so well written I felt like I could see him working.
Figuring out the villain was hard to do in this story and the who-done-it kept me turning pages right to the very end. I give Called to Protect four stars and look forward to the next book in the series.
