The Bones Will Speak

bones

ISBN-13: 9781401690458 Publisher: Thomas Nelson

Book Two in the Gwen Marcey Series, The Bones Will Speak, is a page turning, edge of your seat, nail-biting intense suspense filled story.

I love the unique way Ms. Parks writes in both first person and third person. In her gifted storytelling skill, she weaves together a great book, keeping the reader fully engaged from page one until the very end.

Gwen is a strong and talented woman who can never seem to catch a break. She doesn’t wallow in self-pity though, she’s tough and taking care of business. I think one of my favorite parts of her character is the way she deals with body parts and crime scenes with such ease.

This story is so intense that you’ll need a blanket, lights on and locked doors to read it. And then, you’ll be dying to read the next one. I know I am.

I absolutely loved The Bones Will Speak. It deals with real characters while thrilling the reader with a true-to-life kind of story. It’s a five out of five for me.

I received this book from the author and am providing a review based on my personal opinion.

Fear is Louder than Words

fear

Publisher: Lighthouse Publishing of the Carolinas ASIN: B0182K6S00

Fear is Louder than Words rolls into action from the start and the thrill ride continues with fast-paced intensity right to the end. A true blend of suspense and romance, it kept me turning pages late into the night.

Rochelle Cassidy isn’t afraid to speak her mind and that’s part of the problem. She’s made enemies…some known…some unknown. The threat to her life is real but she’s not compromising her job as a talk show host to keep quiet.

Ed McGrath’s timing couldn’t be more perfect. A player in every sense of the word, and happy to be so, until he meets Rochelle. The pro-hockey star has everything he could want, so why isn’t he fulfilled?

I loved the action as Rochelle discovers the sinister activities and digs to expose them. She’s relentless even as her enemies try to silence her. The protectiveness Ed provides is sweet and sigh worthy.

Fear is Louder than Words is a great story and worthy of five out of five stars. I received this book from the author and have provided my honest opinion.

Whispers in the Reading Room

whispersinthereadingroom

ISBN-13: 9780310338499 Publisher: Zondervan

Whispers in the Reading Room is book three of the Chicago World’s Fair Mystery Series but can be easily read as a standalone. I’ve not read the first two, but have already added them to my must read pile. This is the first of Shelley Gray’s books that I’ve read and I was extremely impressed.

The story is a great contrast of a prim and proper librarian and a rascal turned crime boss. Two unlikely hearts that are drawn together by the love of books. I loved the mystery of “who done it” along with the romantic twist of Lydia and Sebastian. Ms. Gray did a wonderful job of keeping the suspense moving and showing the developing relationships.

I thoroughly enjoyed Whispers in the Reading Room and would absolutely recommend the books. I received this book from the Fiction Guild and Zondervan Publishers in exchange for my honest opinion which I’ve provided here.
