When Mountains Move is the sequel to Into the Free and although I hadn’t read it first, it had no negative impact on this story.
Julie Cantrell has such giftedness in transporting the reader back into the time and setting of the story. Her writing style is beautiful and has made her a favorite author of mine since The Feathered Bone.

I’d forget Millie was only a teenager even while she was a wife and mother. Her attitude at times, was lightyears ahead of where I’d see a girl her age. Yet other times, her thoughts and actions very much resembled someone with less life experience.

Her grandmother, Oka is delightful and full of wisdom. I absolutely loved her and their relationship is tender.

Bump’s responsible and devoted love is heartwarming.

Each character is intricately woven through the story. I enjoyed the many twists and turns all while rooting for Millie.

A beautiful story of love, family and forgiveness. And, most importantly, redemption.

I received When Mountains Move from Thomas Nelson Publishers and The Fiction Guild and all opinions expressed are purely my own.
